Smoke Hole Caverns
Tour this underground wonderland complete with a crystal cave pool filled with golden and rainbow trout, found in only one other cavern in the world. Enjoy a sparkling room of a million stalactites, with a towering 274 foot ceiling and a constant 56 degrees. Directions: Go East from Elkins on US-33 [SR-55] for 34.4 miles Seneca Rocks, keep STRAIGHT onto SR-28 [SR-55] North for 10 miles $12.00 Adults $6.00 Children (Ages 5-12) No charge for children under age of 4. Or you can hike the path of the Potomac River through this canyon located at the foot of Seneca Rocks. Fishing is popular along the river throughout the canyon. Streams are stocked with rainbow and golden trout by the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources from January through June and then again in October. Large and small mouth bass are plentiful. Squirrel, grouse, turkey, deer, rabbit and bear hunting is popular in late fall. Most of the land in the Smoke Hole is managed by the Forest Service and is open to hunting subject to West Virginia hunting regulation
