Lemuel Chenoweth Museum
Lemuel Chenoweth built his “pleasant little homestead on the rippling Tygarts,” in 1856, overlooking the Beverly covered bridge he constructed in 1847. After restoration, the house is being gradually refurnished with furniture built by Mr. Chenoweth, considered America’s most famous builder of covered bridges. Those pieces which were not once owned by the Chenoweth family and pieces similar to what he would have constructed are for sale through Lemuel Chenoweth House Antiques. A collection of woodworking tools in the cellar similar to what he would have used are also for sale.
