Biennial event (2009,2011, 2013) Held on the weekend closest to July 11th each year. Commemorative reenactment of the July 11, 1861 battle that lead the Union to victory and control of the turnpike as well as propelling Gen. Geo. McClellan to leadership of the Army of the Potomac. Living history, artillery and cavalry demonstrations, encampment tours, camp dance; benefit memorabilia and relic auction and more.

Directions:

From Beverly, turn west off of U.S. Route 219\250 onto
From Elkins, West Virginia, take Highway 219/250 south six miles to Beverly. In the center of Beverly, take a right on Rich Mountain Road. There are DOH highway signs directing you to the battlefield. You will cross the Tygart River. Follow straight to the top of the mountain. You will see a historical marker on the left when you reach the battlefield (5 miles form Beverly) Continue west on Rich Mountain Road to the Camp Garnett and Field of Fire Pavilion. Event will be held in this location.
