Located in the building that served as McClellan’s Headquarters during the Civil War Battle of Rich Mountain, permanent exhibits relate the story of the battle as well as revealing the importance of the Staunton-Parkersburg Turnpike to the history of West Virginia and the outcome of the Civil War. A very helpful staff is on hand to answer all your questions about this important piece of American history.

Directions:
From US-250,219 turn west onto Bridge St which becomes Rich Mountain Rd, SR-37.  Go approximately five miles to battlefield and location of interpretive signs.  Go another 1.5 miles to western base which leads out to Camp Garnett, confederate encampment with earthworks and trenches and interpretive signs.
