Poised on a hillside overlooking Elkins, Graceland, the 1893 Victorian mansion built by Senator Henry Gassaway Davis, commands a twenty-mile view of the West Virginia mountains. Recently restored into a beautifully appointed inn and conference center, the imposing structure is complemented by Halliehurst, another family mansion which houses a portion of the offices of Davis and Elkins College, along with the Darby collection of historic artifacts and authentic West Virginia lore. Some pieces in the collection are unprecedented in the nation.
